Getting Around John's Island

John's Island must be traveled by automobile. The island is large and there are only two main access points to enter the island- Main Road, off of Highway 17 (from Savannah) and Maybank Highway (from Charleston). Luckily, traveling across these main thoroughfares can actually be a breathtaking and scenic experience. Please drive with caution - the roads are narrow in some spots and lined with grand oaks draped heavy with spanish moss. When one takes their time to enjoy the ride, taking in the natural beauty can be of the utmost pleasure.
