Angel Oak John's Island, SC
John's Island is home to one of South Carolina's most spectacular works of nature - the Angel Oak Tree. With an approximate age of around 1,500 years old, this live oak is a must-see. It's branches are so large, some rest on the ground, or dip below the surface to emerge several feet away. This magnificent oak is 65 feet tall with a canopy stretching 17,000 square feet.
Tip: Spring & Summer bring special events to Angel Oak park. Music, dance and artistic presentations are held regularly. Check back often.
